Gahagen Named AAA Athlete of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Junior goaltender Parker Gahagen recorded two shutouts in a series win over American International and he was named the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week.
Gahagen recorded his second and third shutouts of the season to help Army advance to the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals with a 2-1 series win over the Yellow Jackets. The Buffalo, N.Y., native was also named the second star of the week by NCAA Ice Hockey as part of the national Stars of the Week.
He stopped 31 shots on Friday night in a 5-0 victory, including 16 saves in the second period. After a tough overtime loss on Saturday, he turned in a 19-save effort and another shut out in a 4-0 victory over the Yellow Jackets. With the impressive weekend, Gahagen now ranks fourth in the nation in save percentage at .933 and is second in Atlantic Hockey with a 2.12 goals against average.
The Black Knights head to Holy Cross for the Atlantic Hockey Quarterfinals this weekend. It is another best-of-three series with a berth at the AHA Semifinals in Rochester on the line. All three games are 7:05 p.m. puck drops at the Hart Center in Worcester, Mass.
