Wilson Earns Patriot League Nods

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Army West Point men's basketball first-year Matt Wilson was tabbed the Patriot League The Rock Rookie of the Week for the second time this season.
Wilson earned rookie of the week honors after scoring in double figures in both of Army's victories last week.

He averaging 12.5 points over two games and shot 78.6 percent from the floor. Wilson finished 7-for-9 from the floor for 15 points in a decisive victory over Fairleigh Dickinson. Then on Saturday, Wilson went 4-of-5 from the floor for 10 points, while pulling down eight rebounds. The Alexandria, Ky., native leads the Patriot League with a 74.1 field goal percentage (40-for-54), while averaging 5.3 rebounds per game.

Wilson's teammate, sophomore guard Jordan Fox was named a weekly honorable mention after averaging 13.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in Army's two wins. Against FDU, Fox went 7-of-12 from the floor for 15 points, to go with five assists and two rebounds. He followed that up by scoring 10 points and dishing out a team and career-high eight assists in Army's victory over St. Francis Brooklyn.
The Jackson, County, Ky., native was also named the College Sports Madness Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his performance last week. That official release can be found HERE.
