Ward Among Coach K Award Recipients

The winners were announced at the Cadet Mess Hall on Friday and recognizes West Point athletes and coaches for their outstanding commitment to the development of noble character through athletic participation and leadership.
Krzyzewski, a 1969 USMA graduate and former basketball player and coach, presented the awards, a certificate and medal.
Drummond, a native of Pittsford, N.Y., started all 12 games for the Black Knights in 2014 on the defensive line. He made 32 tackles, collected 3.5 tackles for loss and recovered a fumble. In addition, he serves as the Brigade Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He is an Economics major and was recently selected to the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame Hampsire Honor Society for posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 of better.
Ward just completed his first season as head coach of the Army West Point wrestling program. He guided the Black Knights to win over service academy rival Navy during his initial season, snapping a 17-year losing streak to the Mids.
Ward guided four wrestlers to the NCAA Tournament and the Black Knights to a second-place finish at the All-Academy Championships.
In addition to Drummond and Ward, Melissa Wells (competitive club sports), Andrew Pilkington (company athletics), Lt. Col. G. Matt Burrow (competitive club coach), and Maj. Helen Lilly (company athletics coach) were also honored.
