Men’s Swim & Dive Runner-ups at Terrier Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – After three days of competition, the Army West Point men's swimming and diving team has finished second at the Terrier Invitational. The Black Knights tallied 852 total points to move up to the runner-up position for the three-day meet.
 
Joe Frullaney competed for Army off the 1-meter board. He was ninth with 225.10 points.
 
In the swimming events, the Black Knights competed in the 1650 free for the first time this season. Tom Ottman placed first after touching the wall in 15:33.09. Clay Harmon (15:58.98) was fourth and Jason Hunt (16:19.55) was 14th.
 
Josh Sembrano finished second in the 200 back with a time of 1:48.18. Michael Stanchi (1:49.27), Jay Yang (1:49.11) and Matt McPheters (1:49.71) also placed in the top-10 for Army.
 
Chris Szekely and Brandon McCredie placed third and fourth in the 100 free with times of 45.29 and 45.31, respectively. In the 200 breast, Colin Kanzari clocked a 2:05.53 to place second, and was followed by Sam Mo who finished third with a time of 2:06.00. Pat Wall was the Black Knights' third-best finisher after finishing in 2:10.44.
 
Jason Rodriguez won the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.79. Yang placed third after touching the wall in 1:50.89, while Zach Blankenbeker (1:53.05), Sean Regan (1:52.29) and Devin McCall (1:52.70) rounded out the top-10.
 
The invitational concluded with a first-place finish in the 400 medley relay. The Army team of Evin Rude, McCredie, McCall and Szekely clocked a 3:00.37 to place first.
 
The swimming and diving team will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 10, when the Cadets travel to Annapolis, Md., for the annual Army-Navy meet.
