Army has six players on its roster from North Carolina. Tyler L’Hommedieu (Salisbury, N.C.) and Scott Washle (Raleigh, N.C.).were a part of the travel roster to Wake.
OFFENSE
Senior running back Larry Dixon made his 28th career start, the most of any Army player.
Army started the same offensive line for the third consecutive week: tackles Drew Hennessy and Todd McDonald, guards Stephen Shumaker and Stefan Moreau and center Matt Hugenberg.
Senior quarterback Angel Santiago made his 15th career start. Santiago threw an incomplete pass in the first quarter, his first incompletion of the season. He connected on two passes for Stanford and six opposite Buffalo.
Larry Dixon collected his 20th rushing touchdown late in the first quarter and now stands 12th all-time, tied with Clarence Jones (1984-86). Dixon also moved up the career all-time rushing yards list, passing Charlie Jarvis who collected 2,334 yards from 1966-68.
Dixon has 2,412 yards all-time to move into seventh place, behind teammate Raymond Maples. Dixon is now the top career fullback as a rusher. Joe Walker threw his first career pass and touchdown with a four-yard connection to Xavier Moss late in the first half.
Trenton Turrentine rushed three times for 26 yards, his first carries of the season.
Angel Santiago rushed 21 times for 123 yards, the second 100-yard game of his career.
DEFENSE
Safety Geoffery Bacon registered his 27th career start, the most of anyone on the Army defense.
Army started five defensive backs as Steven Johnson joined Josh Jenkins, Geoffery Bacon, Hayden Pierce and Chris Carnegie.
Middle linebacker Andrew King, who started the first two games, was not among the starters.
Linebacker Julian Holloway made his first appearance of the season. Holloway missed the final three games of 2013 with an injury.
Jeremy Timpf made his first career interception late in the first half.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Alex Tardieu punted four times for 181 yards, an average of 45.2 per kick.
Daniel Grochowski kicked off four times for 179 yards, an average of 44.8 yards per kick. Grochowski attempted his first field goal of the season.
