Athletic Academic Support Coordinator
Angela Marathakis is an Athletic Academic Support Coordinator/Writing Specialist in the Center for Enhanced Performance. Her duties consist of coordinating academic support regarding time management, paper writing, test-taking strategies, study skills, note taking and an overall mentoring capacity. Working in conjunction with the Officer Representatives for the men's lacrosse, football, baseball and wrestling teams, Marathakis provides each coaching staff with academic updates on a regular basis. In addition to her athletic duties, she also teaches the RS 101 Student Success Course to cadets in their plebe year, assisting them in actively pursuing their full academic, physical and leadership potential at West Point.
Marathakis joined the West Point staff in December of 2010 after spending three years at Providence College as an Academic Skills Specialist where she worked with athletic programs in the same capacity. Prior to Providence, she served as the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Success/Life Skills Coordinator at Austin Peay State University for one year. She spent the previous two years the University of Tennessee, assisting student-athletes in an academic and athletic capacity.
Marathakis earned her Master's degree in Sport Psychology from Tennessee while serving as a graduate assistant for the Lady Vols women's soccer team. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Studies from Ithaca College and earned athletic and academic awards for the women's lacrosse team.
A native of Ravena, N.Y, Marathakis currently resides in Cornwall, N.Y., with her beagle, Dewey.
