Athletic Academic Support Coordinator
Bill Irwin serves as an Athletic Academic Support Coordinator in The Center for Enhanced Performance. His primary duties are to coordinate academic support in conjunction with the Officer Representatives for the men's and women's basketball, lacrosse and men's soccer teams. He is also the course director for RS 100, also known as the Student Success Course, designed for cadets making their way to West Point through the USMA Preparatory School.
Irwin arrived at the Academy in the spring of 2008 after coaching the tight ends for a year at Columbia University in nearby New York City. Prior to Columbia, he was a coach and an academic/life skills coordinator for the football team at Western New England College. During that time he earned his Master's degree in Athletic Counseling from Springfield College.
Irwin was a three-year starter at Connecticut as an undergraduate student-athlete. He finished his senior season with a Motor City Bowl win, the first bowl game in school history, and a spot on the Rimington Trophy watch list.
Irwin is a native of Fairfax, Va., and currently resides in nearby Piermont, N.Y., with his fiancé, Kacy.
