Special Events Coordinator
Dawn Georgalas joined the Army A Club staff in January 2012 as the Special Events Coordinator. In her role, she organizes various events surrounding Army Athletics including the annual Army Athletic Department Hall of Fame banquet, Golf Outing, and 50 Yard Line Dinner.
She came to West Point from Kansas City, Kan., where she worked for the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as an Education Program Coordinator. During her time with the NSCAA, her main responsibilities were coordinating all NSCAA coaching courses for her assigned regions of the country.
Prior to working for the NSCAA, she was the Game Operations and Community Relations Manager for the Washington Freedom that played in the Women's Professional Soccer league (WPS). During her time with the Freedom, Georgalas managed all aspects of game day operations and created relationships with community organizations.
Georgalas also worked at Cornell University as an Athletic Operations Assistant from 2007-2010. While at Cornell, she managed game-day operations, scheduled facilities, and oversaw event staff at athletic events.
Georgalas received her Master's Degree in Sport Management from Ithaca College in 2007. To complete her degree, she spent the summer of 2007 in Houston, Texas, as a corporate sponsorship intern for the Houston Dynamo of Major League Soccer (MLS).
A native of Lima, Ohio, Georgalas graduated magna cum laude from the University of the Cumberlands in 2005 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. At Cumberland, she was a member of the women's soccer team and was an Academic All-American in 2005.
She and her husband, Kyle, who is an assistant coach for the Army lacrosse team, reside in New Windsor, N.Y.
