Deputy Athletic Director
Jonathan Evans joined the Army Athletic Association in September 2010 as its Deputy Athletic Director after spending the previous four years as Associate Athletic Director at the College of Charleston. At Army, Evans oversees strategic planning, major gifts and Army Athletics involvement in the current $350M Capital Campaign, compliance and academics. Evans also manages the relationship with the West Point Association of Graduates (Foundation) and Army JAG (Legal).
In addition to the aforementioned duties, Evans serves as the sport supervisor for men's basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, men's tennis and women's tennis.
Evans served as Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs at the College of Charleston beginning in October of 2006. In that position, Evans oversaw fundraising, marketing, sponsorship, ticketing and event management while serving as the sport supervisor for men's tennis. He also managed multiple aspects of the fundraising, construction and opening of the $45 million Carolina First Arena in 2008.
Prior to joining the College of Charleston, Evans worked at the University of Maryland where he was the Associate Athletic Director/Executive Director of the Terrapin Club overseeing an organization with 8,500 members and over $10 million in annual donations. Prior to his time at Maryland, Evans served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Bucknell University and spent five years working at the University of California-Berkeley in various fundraising and ticketing capacities.
Evans began his career as a marketing intern with both the New York Mets and Appalachian State University. He received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. He later earned a Master's Degree in Sport Management from Appalachian State University.
