Athletic Communications Assistant
Entering her first year at West Point as an athletic communications assistant, Amanda Niglia handles the publicity for the volleyball, swimming and diving and women's tennis teams. Niglia is also involved in game day operations for football, basketball, hockey and lacrosse.
Her daily duties for volleyball, swimming & diving and tennis include media guide production, website maintenance, in-game statistics, Twitter updates and general media relations responsibilities.
Raised in Monroe, N.Y., located only 20 minutes from West Point, Niglia graduated from the University at Albany in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts and Sciences. During her four years at Albany, Niglia volunteered for the university's sports communications office. Her duties included game day operations for football, lacrosse and basketball. During Niglia's last semester at Albany, she interned for the program in which she updated player bios and worked with social media.
Niglia, 22, has volunteered at West Point football games since graduating high school in 2009 before becoming a permanent member of the Army Athletic Communications staff in 2013.
